BakerRipley's federally funded Weatherization Assistance Program improves a home to make it safer in extreme weather and to reduce energy use, including upgrading insulation, sealing drafts, HVAC duct sealing, exhaust fans, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. When residents apply for weatherization, they also apply for utility assistance.
How to start
Residents interested in applying should use the online portal linked on the FAQ page to apply and receive application updates via email; a resident can also request an application be mailed with their intake form or contact the United Way of Greater Houston 211 Texas/United Way HELPLINE. An inspector will come to the home to conduct an evaluation.
